BREAKFAST: Soul lifting bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Walk to Work: It was down the Taff Trail this morning, where a pair of regal Swans were moving leisurely on the River Taff below. Nice morning, but there was a sense that it wouldn't last all day. Lunchbox Banana Apple 4 salmon [tinned variety] sandwiches on brown bread with the obligatory hint of lemon juice. In the evening I headed north in the rain for the town of Merthyr in search of a Mormon church and American singer Donny Osmond. BREAKFAST: Much appreciated bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk. Walk to Work: Was joined by Mrs B and Isabella in her pram on my route into the centre of Cardiff, which was down the inimitable Cowbridge Road East. Not a great deal to report, especially from Castle Bingo were on Monday an alarm was shrieking for dear life. Lunchbox: 4 tinned salmon sandwiches with a hint of lemon juice 1 banana 1 peach Some raspberries and cherries. 2 chocolate digestive biscuits. Random Thought On my signal unleash Wales's greatest ever living civil servant Gareth Hall. Then go and seek AMs Nick Bourne and Mike German... and what the hell Alun Davies too! Rhodri Morgan will meet you in the after life. Are you entertained!

BREAKFAST: Joyful bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed organic milk. The Walk to Work: It was down the Taff Trail for the first time in more than two weeks. Much change? Well the pace of construction on a new stadium for Glamorgan County Cricket club took me by surprise. You can no longer look across to the north of the ground. River Taff was as calm as ever and only a few pedestrians were on the trail this morning, just recall one bike whistling past. Lunchbox 4 ham and tomato sandwiches 1 banana 1 peach Some blueberries A Rachel's organic yoghurt 2 chocolate digestive biscuits RANDOM THOUGHT Take two pens hold them close together and write your name Billy I' haven't got time for your nonsense! But Trevor it looks really good, honest. Here take this piece of blank paper and these blue and red pens. Billy for God's sake, just load up the van and get that cement out sharpish!

Breakfast: Awesome bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk. Walk to Work BACK in the land of the income generators today, after a two week vacation . It was down a very wet Cowbridge Road East, where from the air a great view of umbrellas would have been afforded. Having not handled an umbrella for several weeks, I did manage the odd collision with fellow rain protection device holders as I made my way into the centre of the Welsh capital. Over Canton Bridge and a woman was completely drenched by a passing bus, she had protective rain proof clothing on... but it was a great sight. Lunchbox: 4 ham and salad brown bread sandwiches 1 peach 1 banana 1 apple some raspberries 2 chocolate digestive biscuits 1 Rachel's organic yoghurt Random Thought Year 2020: Fruit picking reaches record levels in the UK. Teenagers especially cannot get enough of picking great fruits like raspberries and blackcurrants from bushes, which can be found on land even in inner City areas.

Walk to Work: Started a two week vacation today. BREAKFAST: Joyous bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed organic milk... seriously good . Walk to Work: It was down the Taff Trail for the first time in a while. It was obvious that it was going to be a glorious day. The River Taff below was very relaxed. Activity on the trail was only marginally up, with the immaculately groomed white Husky Dog and the sanguine British Bull Dog out for an early morning canter. Lunchbox: 2 chocolate digestive biscuits 2 cheese rolls 1 banana 1 apple Arrived home at 6pm _ having walked up Cathedral Road _ to find that Isabella had a orange like rash on her neck. NHS out of hours beckoned, until I tracked down an old friend who is a doctor living in Cardiff. Dr Gill mostly generously came around to check on Isabella. No alarms, thank God, and just a little heat rash. From memory Paul was a huge fan of glam rockers Kiss... Here they are in action.. oh dear ! Random Thought: Thanks Doc, you saved us quite a bit of hassle and put our minds at rest. 2090: ...

VERY late entry today... so much time taken up by chartered surveyors, backers of new airlines and tales of inward investment over the last decade Anyway, it is approaching 6pm here in the UK, so time to stage exit left. So no walk to work or lunchbox entry today. Straight to a Random Thought To all women : Make sure you marry a man who can do things.. like building cupboards and tiling kitchens. I am not very good at all that stuff... but would love to be a tidy carpenter

BREAKFAST: 2 Croissants. Walk to Work: Not on the radar today, as I am off following a Sunday of income generation a few weeks back. So it was a morning spent with Isabella [above] and Mrs B. We walked into the centre of Cardiff, where retail outlets of various sizes and descriptions took hold. Have to say customer service was a mixed bag. Lunch: 2 bacon and salad sandwiches. Will be out for a walk as soon as Isabella emerges from her sleep. Random Thought 5 things to do before your company is acquired by a private equity house. 1. Watch the sunrise from the boardroom 2. Park in a management space 3. Eat for a week in the office canteen! 4. Spend the day in a department you don't work in. 5. Spend time on the roof of your office

BREAKFAST: Challenging, but rewarding bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed cold orgnic milk. Walk to Work: It was down Cowbridge Road East again this fine morning as I moved quickly towards the centre of the Welsh capital. Buses were plentiful and cars too. Lunchbox: 4 ham and salad sandwiches on brown bread. 2 very fine chocolate digestive biscuits 1 apple 1 banana 1 Rachel's organic yoghurt Random Thought A book I wrote long ago Where it went I do not know I lent it to a friend you see who stored it in the boot of his car. It then got sold and the book waved goodbye

BREAKFAST: Not at my humble abode this morning, but a very fine hotel in the centre of Cardiff, where I had a meeting with Mr Christopher Nott of legal firm Capital Law. Walk to Work: First stop was breakfast at the Park Plaza for 8am, so at a pretty impressive pace it was down Cowbridge Road East, which takes you into the centre of Cardiff. Pretty quiet on my way into the centre of the capital. Outside Cardiff Castle a gathering of US tourists were waiting, presumably for a coach. One was asking a tour guide whether Ireland was a different country to the UK. Lunchbox: Having factored in breakfast with Mr Nott I opted to give it a day off. Random Thought "It's huge, it's enormous! It's way over 90 metres! And yes it's a white flag. So Wales's greatest living civil servant Gareth Hall, qualifies for Friday's final. But not such good news for Ian Williams who failed in his three throws to get the qualifying distance of 70 metres. But, his strongest ev...

BREAKFAST: Two pieces of brown toast with Olivio spread and blackcurrant jam. Also a bowl of Shreddies with semi-skimmed cold milk. Walk to Work: Mrs B dropped me to my venue of income generation. Lunchbox: Not on active duty today. Instead had to settle for a Meal Deal at Boots. Had some ham and cheese spread sandwiches in a fancy box and a bottle of orange juice. Spent most of the morning at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport where I had a bit of chat with Sir Terry Matthews. Random Thought Today's message from beyond the grave comes from Rommel. "I sometimes still find sand in my hair, but seriously if I had my time over again I would have emigrated to the States instead of joining the army. Not sure exactly what I would have done, but it would have been a people focused thing, perhaps in the voluntary sector." HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

BREAKFAST: A combination of Rice Crispies with Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk.. have to say not the greatest union. Walk to Work: It was back down the Taff Trail with rain in the air. Quite a few squirrels were out and about as I passed the under construction new cricket test stadium at the home of Glamorgan. Work is progressing very nicely and in one section of the stand to the north of the ground it looked as if some seats have already been put in. At the point where I exit the trail to cross over Canton Bridge into the centre of Cardiff, I passed the immaculately groomed white huskey dog out with his owners. Lunchbox 4 ham and tomato sandwiches 1 banana 1 Rachel's organic yoghurt 2 digestive biscuits Random Thought I have done the above... my dad found me walking around downstairs in the middle of the night way back in the early 1970s. My sister also was a good sleep walker and was at one stage trying to open the front door. Sweet dreams.

BREAKFAST: First bowl of cereal in four days with Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk doing the honours. The Walk to Work: Torrential rain greeted me as I exited my humble abode. But I was determined to work the 25 minutes or so journey to my location of income generation. With pretty good umbrella handling technique it was down Cowbridge Road East, which unashamedly marches you into centre of Cardiff. Lunchbox: 2 ham and tomato rolls 2 digestive biscuits RANDOM THOUGHT Dai Jones: Bloody marvellous try that one... bloody marvellous! Gladys get your coat I fancy eating out tonight But Dai I've just bought some fish and chips... and what't the hell you talking about anyway you daft sod you haven't been outside this house since 1967! BREAKFAST: One piece of toast... still not feeling the best. Walk to Work: It was down Cowbridge Road East, didn't really have the energy for the longer route [by about 5 minutes] down the legendary Taff Trail. Not a great deal happening on the streets today. Did bump into work colleague Aled Blake en route. Lunchbox: Not happening today. But I did manage a double decker... a great chocolate bar and a humbling experience... taking of which. RANDOM THOUGHT Early or late for mass? Something good happening to biomass? Yeah that's right turning grass into fuel. Say a pray for me I am going to need some funding. But if things go to plan I will be such a wealthy man. The kingdom of heavan can wait a while.

MUCH sickness in the Barry household, starting with Isabella [above] on Friday night before targeting Mrs B yesterday afternoon and myself last night... oh such joys! Walk to Work: Moved at the slowest pace ever. Wasn't feeling too good as I ventured down an empty Cowbridge Road East which leads into the centre of Cardiff. The silence was broken by a couple some 50 yards behind, who I believe were speaking in Spanish. Lunchbox: Food off the agenda today Random Thought: If I could travel back in time, it would be to an animation studio in Los Angeles to prevent the desecration of Scooby Doo with the introduction of the extremely annoying character Scrappy Doo.

BREAKFAST : Slightly above average bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Walk to Walk: Not the usual route today. Had to drop Isabella at nursery for 8am, as Mrs B had business in the city of Newport. Then parked the car in Grangetown for a much shorter walk into my venue of income generation. It was still early, but the sun was already burning brightly. Lunchbox 4 salmon sandwiches [tinned variety] with a hint of lemon juice Some grapes too. BREAKFAST: A decent old cove bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk. Walk to Walk: Was accompanied by Mrs B and our one year old daughter Isabella this morning. They wanted to get out early for some serious shopping... Go Girls! We ventured down the Taff Trail, where Mrs B was amazed by the progress on the new test cricket arena at the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club. We then had to take the pedestrian bridge into the grounds of Cardiff Castle as a huge branch had come crashing down to lay right across the Taff Trail. We could have tried to climb over it, but that would have required a military style operation with the pram. Lunchbox: 4 ham and tomato sandwiches 1 banana 1 apple 1 Rachel's orgnic yoghurt. Random Thought You see this game my son? Yes dad. It's an absolute classic. Looks crap to me dad. My son, one day it will be your salvation. Dad! Dad! Oh my God nurse come quickly it's my dad.
