TODAY's LUNCHBOX

Was in the gym this morning at 7.30am and when I got back the Lunch Box was ready to rock and roll!

Took the scenic route again through Pontcanna Fields _ noticed that the River Taff was moving at the fastest speed I have seen it for a while. A plastic football (the sort you can buy at petrol stations) passed me at a fair rate of knots on its way down stream to Cardiff Bay _ estimated at about 12 mph.

Also passed a monster of a dog _ Irish Wolfhound _ with his owner looking Happy as Larry.

The Lunch Box

4 ham sandwiches with cherry tomatoes on white/brown bread.

A small container of strawberries _ more of later.

Muller light toffee flavoured yoghurt

2 chocolate digestive biscuits.

banana, apple, two satsumas.

What happened:

Chocolate biscuits were a delight just before 11am, followed by the banana _ I like this combination.

Had a dental appoinment at midday, so didn't get back to the office until 1pm. The sandwiches were then eaten _ they were excellent.

Then came the yoghurt, followed by the strawberries, one of which I managed to drop onto my desk and a bit onto my shirt... oh dear!

Was a bit upset, but then David my colleague said, "But Sion it will make good copy for the blog."

The fruit went throughout the afternoon.

Random Thought: Every year in Wales there is a huge cultural event called an Eisteddfod _ which is conducted through the medium of Welsh.

One of the prizes in the event is the Welsh Learner of the Year _ very popular indeed.

However, in keeping with bilingualism in Wales (use of English and Welsh) perhaps they could introduce a new competition with the "Welsh Forgetter of the Year.
The prize would be in recognition of people (once fluent in Welsh) who through the passing of time, or moving away, have forgotten how to speak the language.
