BREAKFAST : Didn't really fancy it, but it was a cooked breakfast at a meeting at St David's Hotel and Spa in Cardiff Bay, where we were told of the delights of Welsh Whisky. CLICK here to hear a strange chap called Tommy who lives on a hill under a reservoir WALK to Work: This didn't happen as I had to be in Cardiff Bay for a breakfast meeting . Lunchbox 1 banana slice of Mrs B's amazing coffee sponge cake 4 ham and tomato sandwiches on granary bread. 1 container of sliced kiwi fruit and a plum. 1 raspberry flavoured yoghurt. Right this didn't come from me, but... Coffee cake was first to go, followed by the fruit then the sandwiches. Yoghurt was the last to go. RANDOM THOUGHT Mirror mirror on the wall... who is that idiot with the blue rinse and a red squirrel? Have a sensational weekend!

HERE are Gladys And Betty out for their morning walk They are great friends and head off towards the local park. To hear what happens to the intrepid duo click here BREAKFAST: Not a bad bowl of Cornflakes. The Walk to Work Very good walk this morning along the River Taff Trail , which leads into the centre of Cardiff, which 130 years ago had a smaller population than Merthyr Tydfil Birds were in fine voice and I even saw a grey squirrel, for the first time in ages. The world's slowest dog, the British Bulldog, was back on the trial this morning. Lunchbox 4 sausage sandwiches (left over from Mrs B excellent bangers and mash last night. 1 banana 1 small container of a cut of kiwi fruit and plum 1 raspberry flavoured Muller Light yoghurt. 2 Rich Tea biscuit _ in a special biscuit plastic container bought as a present from Mrs B. You treat this house like a bloody hotel! Banana went first, followed by the sandwiches, then the yoghurt then the container of fruit. Had the biscuits l

BREAKFAST : Seriously good bowl of 3 Weetabix with cold milk. Walk to Work: Was out the door at 7am. This time it was not down the beloved Taff Trail which follows the River Taff into the Centre of Cardiff , but down depressing Cowbridge Road East. Traffic was pretty light and came across work colleague Aled Blake en route. Over Canton Bridge, into the centre of Cardiff, and a huge barge with a mechanical digger aboard was making its laboured way upstream... I noted it yesterday dredging the waters just off a very fancy Venetian like waterbus stop, which has been constructed in the grounds of Cardiff Castle. Lunchbox: 1 miniature flake... nice surprise was that! 1 banana 4 salmon (organic smoked variety) with a hint of lemon juice on granary bread. 1 raspberry flavoured Muller Light yoghurt. I just don't understand people who spend Saturday afternoons in the pub! The flake was the first to go, then had all the fruit. Sandwiches were consumed by midday, then had the yoghurt. RAND

DUE to technical difficulties beyond my comprehensive yesterday's blog entry couldn't be hosted until around 7pm last night. For all 35 (are you all deranged?) individuals who logged on, I dedicate this little song about zimmer frames. To hear the Zimmer Frame song click here. BREAKFAST: Very agreeable bowl of cornflakes. THE Walk to Work: Really enjoyed the walk today... okay so it is the same route every day, but it provides useful head clearing time. On the other side of the River Taff from the trail which I follow, they are constructing what I can only describe is a Venetian like waterbus stop. A huge mechanical digger on a barge in the middle of the river was clearing debris from below... presumably to increase the depth for boats as they come in to pick up passengers... which I guess will then be taken down to Cardiff Bay. Lunchbox 1 slice of Mrs B's superb coffee sponge.... 100 of out 10! 1 container of strawberries, grapes and kiwi friut. 2 salmon sandwic

THE waters of the River Taff at the Weir about 2 miles north of the centre of Cardiff BREAKFAST : 3 Weetabix with hot milk. The Walk to Work: A little bit chilly, but fundamentally fine as I set off in pursuit of earning a little corn. Down the River Taff Trail and it was pretty low key. Two ducks ascended magnificently into the morning sky, before coming into land feet first some 200 yards up stream. Into the centre of Cardiff and I then took the route down the riverway walk, which runs parallel to the Millennium Stadium. The only thing to report on the river below was a hearty Heron who took to the air and within seconds had flown out of sight. Lunchbox 1 banana 4 salmon sandwiches (tinned variety) with a hint of lemon juice. 1 toffee flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt 1 piece of Mrs B's magnificent home made coffee sponge cake... 10 out 10! 1 small container of a cut up plum and sliced kiwi fruit. Oh I'm terribly sorry I don't have enough money... I'll have to put t

TWIST THE LID HERE TO HEAR THE JAM SONG RANDOM THOUGHT. 2070: POPULATION of Antarctica reaches 3 million, of which one million reside in the capital Amundscott. 2067: ARGENTINA makes a territorial claim on the Shetland Islands off the coast of Scotland. Don't have all the details, but it looks quite a compiling case Walk to Work: This didn't happen as I am off work. Finished painting the bathroom... not a bad job. DON'T POINT THAT THING AT ME,IT'S LOADED! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

H ere is Refus in the lunchbox. BREAKFAST: Bowl of Branflakes with cold milk. The Walk to Work... didn't happen today as I am off work. Bathroom painting was resumed ... did a third coat, but will need one more ( I hope) Lunchbox: Still in the kitchen. To be honest I'm past caring! Random Thought: The world's biggest table tennis bat , 100 feet high and 100 feet at its widest point, is unveiled in China. Tomorrow on this blog: a song about a jar of jam

HERE is my lunchbox hanging out in a very funky tree in the grounds of Cardiff Castle ... superb! BREAKFAST: Simple, but perfect bowl of Cornflakes with cold semi-skimmed milk. Walk to Work... that didn't happen this wet morning. I have a day off work, so I am painting the bathroom. I started with a watered down emulsion as the base coat... will probably need two coats of non diluted emulsion _ Antique White_ later today. Painting requires patience ..... do I have it? well I am giving it a good go. Lunchbox ... washed and stored away. RANDOM THOUGHT 2008: THE Archbishop of Canterbury uses his Easter address to condemn the cult British TV prorgramme Celebrity Shoplifting ... where pretty ropey celebs are filmed attempting to steal items (selected by the viewers) from a high street store.

A Little song about me and my washing machine , pictured above. You might need headphones to enjoy/be annoyed by this podcast. To hear the Washing Machine song click here Breakfast: Excellent bowl of Shreddies (not had them for quite a while) with cold milk Walk to Work : Again pretty quiet on the Taff Trail which takes me into centre of the Welsh capital. The River Taff below was all peace and love, as a solitary fly fisher stood in the middle of its tranquil waters. A dog bounded over the small pedestrian bridge with a stick in his mouth... his owner was way off the pace behind. A fierce looking Raven was trying to pick a squirrel with its claws... it was never going to happen but 10 out 10 for effort. Lunchbox 1 banana 2 chocolate digestive biscuits... I could eat more Petra Brown . 4 salmon sandwiches (tinned variety) with a hint of lemon juice. 1 small cotainer of a sliced kiwi, strawberries and grapes. 1 raspberry flavoured yoghurt. Tomorrow on this blog a little song about my washing machine ... which is not the one pictured above. Breakfast: Awesome bowl of 3 Weetabix with hot milk. The Walk to Work. The Taff Trail, which runs along the River Taff, was extremely quiet this morning, apart from a few dogs and early morning joggers. Lunchbox 2 Rich Tea Biscuits 1 banana 1 Raspberry flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt 1 cotainer of strawberries and grapes 4 salmon sandwiches (tinned variety) with a hint of lemon juice The last bus left 10 minutes ago and the first train is not until 5.45am! Was pretty hungry this morning... it was carnage with everything gone by 11.45am Random Thought 2011: Leader of the Anti-Tesco league is branded a hypocrite for ordering 24 cans of Cider via Tesco's online home delivery site.

BREAKFAST: Bowl of Cornflakes with semi skimmed milk. WALK to WORK : Didn't happen today because I am not working. Lunchbox... cleaned and stored away for next week. Lunch? Currently under discussion with Mrs B Random Thought: GOOD FRIDAY 2.50pm, 1974 : Planning to watch the big afternoon movie Around the World in 80 Days. However, my mother had other plans and took me off to the local church, St Patrick's, for Good Friday Mass, which is one of the longest masses of the year.

SITTING in a tree trunk ( well it would be rude not too ) Breakfast: Bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk. The Walk to Work. Along the Taff Trial and a cyclist had his bike upside down while he pumped air into a deflated back tyre. Quite a few seagulls where bathing in the River Taff below. Most bizarre thing I have ever seen on the Taff Trail was a man with long hair sitting behind a tree. He was just looking at the river relaxingly, with a black six string electric guitar by his side... there was no amplifier. Lunchbox. 2 rich tea biscuits 1 container of grapes and a cut up plum 4 ham and tomato sandwiches on granary bread 1 raspberry and cranberry flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt. Excuse me is this the right way to Wigan Pier? Biscuits were a delight at 11am. Then went fruit crazy. Sandwiches were gone by midday, followed by the yoghurt. MY good friend and proud red squirrel, RUFUS has just come back from art college in Paris.... This photograph comes from his new collection entitled the Waves of Spring. C an you see Rufus in the bed of daffodils? Breakfast: A bowl of branflakes with semi-skimmed cold milk and a croissant brought all the way from Paris yesterday, not by Refus, but my parents.... who to the best of my knowledge have never worked for the Catholic version of the FBI. THE WALK to WORK. Decided to up the pace this morning and increasing the length of my walking stride. Along the legendary River Taff trail. which leads right into the centre of the Welsh capital, it was really quiet(the Easter migration has begun). Delighted to see the immacuately groomed white husky dog on the other side of the river in the splendid grounds of Cardiff Castle. Wildlife on my side of the river didn't enter my line of vision. Lunchbox 2 Rich Tea biscuits 1 banana 1 apple 4 salmon sandwiches (smoked variety) with

THE GREAT NON ESCAPE SKETCH from PoW Camp Not So Von Badoff somewhere deep in the Black Forest, Germany, March 1943. To hear every lame excuse in the ration book for not escaping click here BREAKFAST: 3 Weetabix with hot milk. THE WALK TO WORK LEFT at 7.15am and it was all very low key. However, one observation from being on the Taff Trail an hour earlier than normal, is that you hit jogger rush hour. The River Taff was practically unconscious.... so different from the rapids of last week. Saw a squirrel coming down from a tree. When he got to the ground he disturbed a rather large Wood Pigeon, who opted for safety by taking to the air. THE LUNCHBOX 2 Rich Tea biscuits 4 ham sandwiches on granary bread 2 small bananas. 1 apple 1 container of green grapes and strawberries. 1 Cherry flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt. I'VE not thrown a dart in years! Biscuits went early, followed by the bananas just after 11am. It was then the sandwiches and the container of fruit. Apple will remain

HERE I am with Rufus behind a nice tree in a bed of daffodils, which we didn't tread on! The football match in the distance (top left) was apparently abandoned some 10 mins into the second half after a gang of grey squirrels invaded the pitch. THE Walk to Work: Sun was reflecting off the River Taff as I ventured down the Taff Trail this morning. Great sight of three ducks in line taking to the air. Further on I witnessed one coming into land. A seagull was hovering like a helicopter above the waters, must have had his eye on something to eat. Pretty quiet pedestrian wise, but towards Canton Bridge, which takes you into the centre of Cardiff, cyclists were coming thick and fast Lunchbox 2 rich tea biscuits 4 ham sandwiches on granary bread 2 small bananas 1 raspberry flavoured yoghurt 1 small container of strawberries and green grapes. 1 apple... THIS picture of a caged squirrel has been sent to this blog by a chap in Cardiff who goes by the name of Ford. Ford is the author of the yet to be published best seller, The contented little Squirrel. Anyway, Ford is an animal lover, but the squirrels in his garden devour all his bird seed. So every so often he captures a squirrel in his specially built contraption (see above). They are then taken to a new tree rich location and released.... possibly the Taff Trail. BREAKFAST: 3 weetabix with hot milk. THE WALK TO WORK. Mildest morning of the year so far as I set off for the Taff Trail. Pretty quiet it was too, with only a few other pedestrians and 3 cyclists joining me. There was a great Eureka! moment as the British Bull Dog and the immaculate White Husky I see often, came walking towards me - with their owners a few yards behind chatting away happily. Also saw a few squirrels this morning, perhaps Ford had released a few during the night! Lunchbox. 2 chocolate digestives. 2 s

BREAKFAST :IT was three weetabix this morning with cold semi-skimmed milk. The Walk to Work. Sun was starting to shine as I headed off towards the legendary Taff Trail. It was again busy with cyclists trying to avoid us poor pedestrians. A duck I spied below on the River Taff... wondering what might become of the little fellow if Bird flu takes a grip on these shores. Was amazed to see the world's slowest dog, the British Bull Dog, acutally running on the grass land just off the trail this morning. His owner was delighted at the sight and gave him a big hug. The Lunchbox. 2 chocolate digestive biscuits 4 ham and tomato sandwiches on granary bread. 1 banana 1 apple 1 cherry flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt 1 small container of strawberries (sliced) and a cut up plum. THIS WAS ALL FIELDS WHEN I WAS A LAD. Biscuits were the first go at 11am, followed by the banana and then the sandwiches at midday. I then had the container of fruit and the yoghurt. BREAKFAST: Brilliant bowl of branflakes with semi-skimmed milk. The Walk to Work: Pretty mild this morning and it was a hive of activity along the Taff Trail. Two council four wheel lawnmowers approached, huge big orange things they were... I had to move aside to let them pass. At last squirrels were back in view, but not the red variety like my friend Rufus above. The lunchbox 2 chocolate cornflakes mini bites... courtesy of Kate and Jan the West Country Dutchman. 4 salmon sandwiches (smoked variety) with that obligatory hint of lemon juice on granay bread. 1 apple 1 banana. 1 Muller Light Yoghurt (raspberry flavour)... I never tire of them! 1 small container of a cut up put out of therapy plum, kiwi friut and strawberries. I wouldn't stand there if I was you. Went for the mini bite chocolate cornflakes from Kate and Jan.... excellent and good luck with your pie antics this weekend! I then went for the friut at 11.30am (apart from the apple which I am saving for later). Sandwic

IT WAS a privilege to be greenside for the Sword of Truth and Justice golf match at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, between Sir Terry Matthews (pictured left) and First Minister Rhodri Morgan (right). To hear how the boys got on click here... four left! BREAKFAST: Divine bowl of three weetabix with cold semi-skimmed milk. The Walk to Work : Quite chilly this morning as I headed towards the legendary Taff Trail. On the impressive wall which runs the entire length of the northern end of the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club (Sophia Gardens) I was conscious of a creature looking down on me as I passed by. I was amazed to discover on looking back that it was a duck ... the hunted turned hunter looking down on the human race some 16ft up high on the wall! The Taff Trail was like the Monaco Grand Prix this morning with cyclists racing past me. It is only a matter of time before there is an accident! The Lunchbox. 2 chocolate digestive biscuits 4 ham and tomato sandwiches on granar

breakfast: Amazingly good bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk. The Walk to Work. Sun was dancing on the still waters of the River Taff, as I ventured down the Taff Trail. Very busy this morning on the narrow trail as cyclists threaded their way through the hordes of pedestrians. Council workers were out in force too, planting new trees. Across the other bank in the grounds of Cardiff Castle the immaculate white Husky I see often was out for a nice stroll. On my side of the river the world's slowest dog, the British Bull Dog , who I haven't seen for quite a few weeks, was back out with his owner... a middle aged woman sporting a rather large pair of sunglasses , which were red in colour. No squirrels or ducks to be seen. Lunchbox 2 chocolate digestives 4 salmon sandwiches (tinned variety) with a hint of lemon juice on granary bread. 1 banana 1 apple 1 vanilla flavoured Muller Light yoghurt 1 small container of a cut up plum, strawberries and kiwi friut.
