BREAKFAST: Exceedingly good bowl of 3 Weetabix with semi-skimmed milk THE Walk to Work. It was down the Taff Trail again ...pictured below on the far right It was extremely busy this morning with hundreds of Jehovah's Witnesses descending on the Millennium Stadium in the centre of Cardiff for their annual convention. As always they were immaculately dressed and all looking remarkably at ease and happy sporting convention badges with the words: Deliverance At hand! Unlike football, concert and rugby crowds to the stadium I am not anticipating they will turn the streets of the centre of Cardiff into a garbage dump. Lunchbox 4 ham sandwiches on granary bread 1 apple 1 satsuma 2 digestive biscuits. Tell us a good story, but make it snappy I'm starving! Contents of the lunchbox were all gone by midday. BREAKFAST : Superlative bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk Walk to Work. This didn't happen this morning as I drove to the office. Lunchbox. 1 banana 1 nectarine 4 salmon (tinned variety) sandwiches on granary bread 1 plum 2 digestive biscuits. Can this thing go any faster! Had the digestive biscuits just before 11am. The banana went at 11.30am, then the sandwiches the nectarine and the plum after midday. RANDOM THOUGHT 2130: Noah's Ark takes to the high seas again, but this time with lifeboats and life jackets. The on-board entertainment is organised by a descendent of the late Johnny Morris. of Animal Magic fame. Noah, who is a squirrel , refuses to take any humans as punishment for screwing up the planet... Mr Morris is an android.

BREAKFAST: Very fine bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk The Walk to Work. Down the Taff Trial again ( if I had a £1 for everytime I... oh shut up Sion !). Again pretty quiet with infrequent cyclist activity. Spotted two guys sitting up against a wall, who were happily chatting away while sipping from wat I think were two cans of Strongbow... no doubt the first of many today. LUNCHBOX.... I only forgot all about making my sandwiches and by the time I realised my folly I was half way to work.... oh dear! Quick get those clothes off the line it's going to tip down! RANDOM THOUGHT 2130: The first outdoor banana plantation opens in Antarctica.

A NEW podcast this morning about dear old Betty and Gladys who both at the grand age of 82 decide to take their first trip on a plane.... a little break to Amsterdam from Manchester International Airport. CLICK HERE to hear the ladies on the plane as it takes off BREAKFAST My wondrous wife Petra brought me breakfast in bed this morning at 6.30am, which was a bowl of Shreddies and two pieces of toast with blackcurrant jam and Olivio Spread, and a cup of hot lemon juice _ freshly squeezed. WALK to Work. Pretty low key on the Taff Trail this morning with only a handful of other pedestrians and cyclists joining me. Before I join the trial, I walk along a little track at one end of Pontcanna Fields where a tented village is taking shape _ I guess it has something to do with a forthcoming polo match. Only a few ducks were on the River Taff below... but alas again no squirrels to be seen. LUNCHBOX. 4 salmon (smoked variety) sandwiches on granary bread Some grapes (I didn't actually c

BREAKFAST : Sensational bowl of Shreddies (link)... not had them in ages. Walk to Work : After the torrential rain of last night it was a very damp Taff Trail which meanders alongside the River Taff into the centre of Cardiff and beyond towards the district of Grangetown _ where I spent 13 happy years as a kid. Above my i-Pod I could hear an automated voice across the River Taff in the grounds of Cardiff Castle "Attention vehicle reversing"... followed by the same message in Welsh . Just before Canton Bridge , where I leave the trial and walk across the fine structure into the centre of Cardiff, the Chinese State Circus had moved on _ the circumference of their big top could be made out in the grass. LUNCHBOX. 4 ham sandwiches on granary bread 1 Strawberry flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt 2 chocolate digestive biscuits 1 plum 1 banana 1 Nectarine. If life is a rollercoaster will death be a ghost train or a fun house? Banana went first followed by the biscuits just after 11

BREAKFAST: On the advice of world leading branflakology expert Prof Marcus Tatterus I was back on the Branflakes this morning _ a simply divine bowl with cold semi-skimmed milk was to be had. Walk to Work . This didn't happen this morning as I am off work, but later will be participating in a corporate golf day in the Vale of Glamorgan (South Wales) organised by Julian Hodge Bank... what a fun life I lead! Lunchbox. Everything is just grand, washed, dried and stored away in its favourite cupboard until Monday. I've been thinking, perhaps it's time for a career change! RANDOM THOUGHT 2019: The European Union passes new labour legislation which means workers who go to work when they are not feeling well can claim a day off for when they are better.... doubles and triples all around in Beijing! Have an extraordinary lunch and weekend!

A little podcast about Betty and Gladys who take a trip to the seaside to scatter the Ashes of their late brother Arthur ... who by all accounts was not a very nice bloke. To hear the girls in action click here. Post production note : Why are the girls seemingly so upset when Arthur's ashes are scattered by a gust of wind? After all, wasn't this the whole purpose of their trip to the seaside? But what you have to remember is what people say, and what they really feel, can be two or even 82 different things.

BREAKFAST ON the advice of Professor of Branflakology Prof Marcus Tatterus I opted not to have Branflakes for the third day running, but instead it was a perfectly pleasant bowl of 3 Weetabix with hot milk. THE Walk to Work Down the Taff Trail (well it would be rude not to) and quite a few cyclists and pedestrians were moving at various speeds. There was not much activity on the River Taff below, apart from a few ducks. But then from under Canton Bridge came a hive of activity _ four rowers moving at great speed with a chap giving frantic instructions via a megaphone from a small motorised boat behind. LUNCHBOX... is a having a well earned day off today. I am having lunch with a certain Tony Charles of Cardiff, who is one of the world's leading career coaches. IF I go camping again next year you have permission to shoot me ! RANDOM THOUGHT 2030: The World Branflakes eating championships are staged at the end of Penarth Pier in South Wales. BREAKFAST: Charming bowl of branflakes with semi-skimmed milk The Walk to Work . Sun was breaking through as I headed off down the Taff Trail towards the centre of Cardiff. Quite a few ducks were on the River Taff below. The Chinese State Circus are still encamped off the trail... saw three Chinese youn gsters kicking a football around on grass land behind their impressive big top. Haven't seen any squirrels for ages... perhaps they are all on vacation. LUNCHBOX apple banana 2 satsumas plum 4 ham sandwiches on granary bread Don't point that needle anywhere near me! Banana went first just before 10.30am, then a satsuma. Had the sandwiches after 11am. Saving the remaining fruit until the afternoon. RANDOM THOUGHT THE only place in the Western World where the majority of residents don't have a washing machine is in the BBC soap opera Eastenders . MY lunchbox is well into the World Cup... here it is last night watching the South Korea v France game. I was in the kitchen at the time making it a half time snack! BREAKFAST : Was out running at 6.40am (middle aged crisis and all that!) so really enjoyed my bowl of branflakes with semi-skimmed cold milk. THE Walk To Work. IT was drizzling as I left for work with my trusty umbrella for company. So it was down the lengendary River Taff Trial, which as you should all know by now leads into the centre of the Welsh capital Cardiff, or if you are Welsh speaking Caerdydd. Quite a few cyclists whizzed past and a great many dogs too were enjoying an early walk. Only a few ducks were on the River Taff below. LUNCHBOX 4 salmon sandwiches (tinned variety) with a hint of lemon juice on granary bread. 1 apple, satsuma, plum and banana. To be honest I don't think that hat is really you. Sandwiches went first, then all that fruit... RANDOM THOUGHT 2100: In the biggest land deal in history Chi

BREAKFAST : Grandiose bowl of Branflakes with semi-skimmed cold milk. THE Walk To Work Down the Taff Trail and I came across a bicycle left on its side in the middle of the trail. It looked pretty odd, but then a young woman, who I had passed earlier with her dog, turned back towards the bike, picked it up and cycled away. Quite a few ducks were on the River Taff below. Lunchbox 4 ham and tomato sandwiches on granary bread 1 banana 1 apple 1 peach. I was in the laundrette so I didn't see a thing... I thought the gunfire was the dryer packing in Sandwiches went first just after 11am, the fruit wasn't that far behind. RANDOM THOUGHT 2039: Germany for the first time comes out fighting over the UK's continued obsession that they had "Won the War." German Foreign Minister Dieter Von Trapp said, "Look we are so tired of this talk from you British all the time that you vun the war... my God it was a 100 years ago now and you are still all obsessed by it." WAS out running at 6.40am this morning around my local park Llandaff Fields . Rubbish levels were extremely disappointing, so decided to do a little bit about it and picked up a discarded can of coke and a bottle of lucozade and put them in a bin... eventhough I had to run with them for about 500 yards (What do you want a medal or something!) BREAKFAST Bowl of Branflakes with cold semi-skimmed milk. Isabella our nearly 7 week old daughter was a delight this morning... having only awoken once in the night (2am) for a feed. Walk to Work. Sun was back out as I headed off merrily down the legendary Taff Trial, which leads into the centre of Cardiff ( yes we know all that!). Quite a few pedestrians and cyclists were also to be found. The Chinese State Circus who have encamped just of the trail, had the full attention of a suited middle aged chap walking towards me. I was hemmed in by cyclists to my right so had to jump off the trail to avoid him as he passed me totally oblivious to my p

BREAKFAST: Fine bowl of Branflakes with semi-skimmed cold milk THE WALK to WORK There were more dogs on the Taff Trail than I have seen in a long time, including that wayward Doberman which has given me quite a few frights in the past. The immaculately groomed White Husky dog also made an appearance. No squirrels again in view this morning. At the end of the trail, before Canton Bridge, the Chinese State Circus had arrived in town. Not many were about, but their big top looked pretty impressive.... was wondering if Wales's most affable senior civil servant, Gareth Hall , who I encountered on the trail yesterday, had joined their ranks ( and no, I am not implying a new career as a clown!). LUNCHBOX 4 ham sandwiches, with cherry tomatoes, on granary bread 1 banana 1 peach 1 Vanilla flavoured Muller Light yoghurt. WHAT a deliciously crisp cover drive Sandwiches were first to go (bowled middle stump), then the fruit which was tragically run-out after looking well set just before

BREAKFAST: Very agreeable bowl of branflakes with a sprinkling of porridge oates. Walk to Work. Still very muggy this morning, despite the thunder storms earlier. Took the scenic route along the Taff Trail, which follows the River Taff into the centre of Cardiff. I came across one of Wales's most affable senior civil servants, the Welsh Assembly's director for the department of Enterprise, Innovation and Networks, Gareth Hall. Like myself Gareth is a keen walker to work to his new offices at Cathays Park close to the centre of Cardiff. With cyclists whistling past at great speed, Gareth expressed genuine concern that a serious accident is bound to happen sooner rather than later on the legendary, but very narrow, trail. I was wearing a blue shirt with a blue bag over my right shoulder (with my cricket kit and most importantly my lunchbox box inside). Gareth, who is thinking of getting an i-Pod, thought I was a postman at first... I should be so lucky I said. (yeah... t

NO Work today so time for relaxation . Well the reality is perhaps not as pictured, bearing in mind we have a six week old daughter So no walk to work , but Petra, I and little Isabella will be out doing some serious pram pushing this afternoon. LUNCHBOX , has been washed, dried and stored away. Chairman Mao , was not a very nice bloke at all... not sure what he would have made of my blog though! RANDOM THOUGHT CAN England win the World Cup which starts today? Well sure they can. If they do, well done them, but my only concern is that if might effect my boxes of Cornflakes. How come? Well you know you sometimes get a free rubber Disney character which you can stick on your pencil inside a box of Cornflakes . Well if England win the World Cup in the UK all Cornflakes boxes will have 100 miniature Wayne Roonies with a special treat inside a plastic bag, yes you have guessed it, a treasured single Cornflake . HAVE A simply marvellous weekend

BREAKFAST : 3 Weetabix with semi-skimmed cold milk... excellent THE Walk to Work A fierce looking Doberman was running at terrifc speed towards me (I have mentioned him before) as I walked along the Taff Trail, which follows the River Taff into the centre of Cardiff. Was I a little frigthened?, well yes I was, but fortunately he passed by without any incident. Sun was glistening on the River Taff below and a few ducks were out and about. Leaving the trail and crossing Canton Bridge into the centre of the city I came across a certain Professor Dylan Jones-Evans . We had a little chat on the bridge about this and that... including a new knowledge bank for management buy-outs in Wales (perhaps we should have jumped off the bridge instead!) Lunchbox 4 salmon (tinned variety) sandwiches on granary bread with a hint of lemon juice 1 banana 1 cherry flavoured Muller light yoghurt 2 chocolate digestive biscuits MY advice is just be yourself Biscuits were first to go, followed by the banana.

THE Fairy Drum Mother Podcast CLICK HERE TO HEAR IT BREAKFAST: Nice bowl of Branflakes with semi-skimmed milk. The Walk to Work Another sunny morning as I headed off to work along what I thought would be my usual route down the Taff Trail which leads into the centre of Cardiff. However , within a few minutes, I came across good friend Toby Mason , who by day/night is a rather good producer at BBC Wales. So we walked down Kings Road in Canton , a street in which my late Uncle David managed to live in three adjoining houses in his life. It all started back in the 1940s at No 60, along with his nine brothers and sisters, including of course my dad. They then all moved to No 62, in the late 40s/early 50s. Then years later in the 1970s Uncle David decided to buy the house next door No 64..... apologies to my extended family if the numbers are wrong, put you know what I mean. I then whistled down Cowbridge Road and over Canton Bridge into the centre of Cardiff... this route is about 10

BREAKFAST : Very cheerful bowl of Branflakes with semi-skimmed cold milk. WALK to WORK . Seriously agreeable weather this morning as I headed down the Taff Trail which meanders into the centre of the Welsh capital. IN the River Taff below two dogs were splashing around in the cooling waters and despite the callings of their owners had no intention of returning to dry land.... they were having too much fun. No squirrels again this morning and only a few ducks on the river itself. The Lunchbox 4 ham sandwiches on white bread (first time this year) with Olivo spread 1 Toffee flavoured Muller light yoghurt 1 apple 1 banana. WHAT are you all doing for New Year this year? Banana went first, followed by the apple, just before 11am. I then went for the sandwiches close to midday, finishing with the yoghurt RANDOM THOUGHT 2120: New 118-130 holiday company is launched by Jack Barry of Cardiff who once took a 18-30 holiday to Spain in 2020.... will the wonders of medical science never cease?

THE WEIR some 300 odd yards north of where I start my walk into work each morning on the legendary Taff Trail in Cardiff. BREAKFAST: 3 Weetabix with semi-skimmed cold milk. THE WALK to WORK.... I am travelling down to London this morning for lunch with chief executive of HSBC bank Dyfrig John … and why not! I will be walking later to Cardiff Train Station, but it is still 6.43am in the morning as I pen this - which I have to do as I will not be able to do my blog entry later. WE are going to some nice restaurant (well hopefully) in the City. We are just going to talk about a great deal of grown of things. Although the last time I met Dyfrig he was very keen on me doing an impression of First Minister for Wales, Rhodri Morgan .... so if it makes him happy I will oblige. Joining us for lunch will be the extremely affable head of HSBC bank in Wales Huw Morgan. WHEN I was young bank robbers were real gentlemen! BREAKFAST: Bowl of Branflakes and 2 Weetabix (only the dregs of the Branflakes were left in the box) with semi-skimmed cold milk. The Walk to Work Sun was out in force again today as I headed down the Taff Trail . On the other side of the river in the splendid grounds of Cardiff Castle I saw the immaculately groomed White Husky Dog out with his owner. Quite a few cyclists whistled passed me. Over Canton Bridge, which leads into the centre of Cardiff, and the two Regal Swans, which I haven't seen for a while, were seemingly sleeping some 10 feet apart in the shallow waters. LUNCHBOX 4 salmon sandwiches (tinned variety) with a hint of lemon juice on granary bread 2 chocolate digestive biscuits 1 banana 1 plum 1 Muller Light Vanilla flavoured yoghurt...
