BREAKFAST: A combination of Rice Crispies with Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk.. have to say not the greatest union. Walk to Work: It was back down the Taff Trail with rain in the air. Quite a few squirrels were out and about as I passed the under construction new cricket test stadium at the home of Glamorgan. Work is progressing very nicely and in one section of the stand to the north of the ground it looked as if some seats have already been put in. At the point where I exit the trail to cross over Canton Bridge into the centre of Cardiff, I passed the immaculately groomed white huskey dog out with his owners. Lunchbox 4 ham and tomato sandwiches 1 banana 1 Rachel's organic yoghurt 2 digestive biscuits Random Thought I have done the above... my dad found me walking around downstairs in the middle of the night way back in the early 1970s. My sister also was a good sleep walker and was at one stage trying to open the front door. Sweet dreams.

BREAKFAST: First bowl of cereal in four days with Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk doing the honours. The Walk to Work: Torrential rain greeted me as I exited my humble abode. But I was determined to work the 25 minutes or so journey to my location of income generation. With pretty good umbrella handling technique it was down Cowbridge Road East, which unashamedly marches you into centre of Cardiff. Lunchbox: 2 ham and tomato rolls 2 digestive biscuits RANDOM THOUGHT Dai Jones: Bloody marvellous try that one... bloody marvellous! Gladys get your coat I fancy eating out tonight But Dai I've just bought some fish and chips... and what't the hell you talking about anyway you daft sod you haven't been outside this house since 1967! Gladys my little flower the man who cannot change his mind is a man that cannot change

BREAKFAST: One piece of toast... still not feeling the best. Walk to Work: It was down Cowbridge Road East, didn't really have the energy for the longer route [by about 5 minutes] down the legendary Taff Trail. Not a great deal happening on the streets today. Did bump into work colleague Aled Blake en route. Lunchbox: Not happening today. But I did manage a double decker... a great chocolate bar and a humbling experience... taking of which. RANDOM THOUGHT Early or late for mass? Something good happening to biomass? Yeah that's right turning grass into fuel. Say a pray for me I am going to need some funding. But if things go to plan I will be such a wealthy man. The kingdom of heavan can wait a while.

MUCH sickness in the Barry household, starting with Isabella [above] on Friday night before targeting Mrs B yesterday afternoon and myself last night... oh such joys! Walk to Work: Moved at the slowest pace ever. Wasn't feeling too good as I ventured down an empty Cowbridge Road East which leads into the centre of Cardiff. The silence was broken by a couple some 50 yards behind, who I believe were speaking in Spanish. Lunchbox: Food off the agenda today Random Thought: If I could travel back in time, it would be to an animation studio in Los Angeles to prevent the desecration of Scooby Doo with the introduction of the extremely annoying character Scrappy Doo.

Mrs B with a famous Welsh actor BREAKFAST: Two joyous pieces of brown toast with Olivio spread and blackcurrant jam. Walk to Work: Not occurring today, as I have a day off for working last Sunday. So it's a looking after Isabella day. We went for walk to our local park, where he had a great time on the swings. We then visited my parents. Lunch Boiled egg and soldiers for me. Isabella had a wonderful lunch all prepared in advance by Mrs B in the form of a chicken crumble Random Thought Welsh Liberal Democrats the Musical

BREAKFAST : Slightly above average bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Walk to Walk: Not the usual route today. Had to drop Isabella at nursery for 8am, as Mrs B had business in the city of Newport. Then parked the car in Grangetown for a much shorter walk into my venue of income generation. It was still early, but the sun was already burning brightly. Lunchbox 4 salmon sandwiches [tinned variety] with a hint of lemon juice Some grapes too. Random Thought Year 2010 : The remaining not so jolly band of Welsh Liberal Democrats set sail for a new life together... they are not sure where they are going, but don't seem particularly bothered

BREAKFAST: A decent old cove bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk. Walk to Walk: Was accompanied by Mrs B and our one year old daughter Isabella this morning. They wanted to get out early for some serious shopping... Go Girls! We ventured down the Taff Trail, where Mrs B was amazed by the progress on the new test cricket arena at the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club. We then had to take the pedestrian bridge into the grounds of Cardiff Castle as a huge branch had come crashing down to lay right across the Taff Trail. We could have tried to climb over it, but that would have required a military style operation with the pram. Lunchbox: 4 ham and tomato sandwiches 1 banana 1 apple 1 Rachel's orgnic yoghurt. Random Thought You see this game my son? Yes dad. It's an absolute classic. Looks crap to me dad. My son, one day it will be your salvation. Dad! Dad! Oh my God nurse come quickly it's my dad. What is it? Oh it's okay... your dad is allowed to play with

BREAKFAST: Miraculous bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Walk to Work: It was again down Cowbridge Road East, which leads one into the centre of Cardiff. There are some historic sites along the way including the house where Ivor Novello was born. Crossing Canton Bridge, which takes you over the River Taff, a regal Swan could be seen below. I then opted to travel along the river way walk with runs riverside along the length of the Millennium Stadium. Lunchbox: 2 cheese rolls [mild organic cheddar] 1 Rachel's organic yoghurt 1 apple 1 banana some grapes Random Thought Pigs are the salvation of the world! What the hell are you talking about Roger? They are so clever.... they're just waiting Roger... please you're making a complete fool of yourself. Okay Bill I will, but the pigs are coming and there will be no stopping them! I think it's best that you shop at another butcher's from now on Roger.

BREAKFAST: Bowl of wonderful Cornflakes with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Walk to Work: It was down Cowbridge Road East, where I immediately came across work colleague Aled Blake. He had just had a heated altercation with a youth on a bike who had thrown a bottle of lucozade onto the road. He gave poor Aled some terrible abuse. We walked at quite a pace [he might have returned with his gang!] talking about many interesting matters such as litter levels, Rainbow Coalitions and traffic lights. There was a little bit of confusion as we passed the river way walk, which runs alongside the Millennium Stadium in the centre of Cardiff. However, after a a few seconds of debate we opted to walk down it rather than Westgate Street as the route to our venue of income generation.... You two need to get out more! Lunchbox 2 cheese rolls 1 apple 1 banana 2 digestive biscuits. Random Thought Two weeks time : With more time on their hands former Welsh Assembly Government Ministers Andrew Davi

BREAKFAST: Bowl of engaging Cornflakes with semi-skimmed organic cold milk. Walk to Work: It was down Cowbridge Road East this morning [the third time this week!] Not a great deal to report... well it's not the Gaza Strip Lunchbox [lightest for quite a while] 2 beef and tomato rolls 1 banana 1 apple Random Thought wobbly jelly tell me something? What? Can you break out of the party genre? Certainly can my friend.

Breakfast: Superior bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Walk to Work: It was down Cowbridge Road East, that leads one [or two if you are with a friend etc etc] into the centre of Cardiff. Had a few near misses as buses generated water sprays from an abundance of kerbside puddles. Increased the pace to ensure I was in my venue of income generation by 8.30am. Lunchbox 1 apple 4 beef and tomato brown bread sandwiches 1 banana 1 Rachel's organic yoghurt Some grapes Random Thought 2012: Russia are crowned team winners in the inaugural world pick pocket championships, held on Rome's underground system. There is also success for Wales, with a bronze in the under 20 men's event following a great performance from Dai "fingers" Davies of Wrexham

BREAKFAST: Sympathetic bowl of Cornflakes with Weetabix [one biscuit] with semi-skimmed organic cold milk. Walk to Work: Was always behind the clock this morning, with shirts to iron, shoes to polish, etc etc. So it was the quickest route to work today, which was down Cowbridge Road East, where last week a mile further up a woman doused herself in petrol at a petrol station, before trained negotiators managed to convince not to set herself alight. Not much to enlighten on my journey, but traffic was pretty heavy. Lunchbox 4 salmon sandwiches [tinned variety] with a hint of lemon juice on brown bread 1 Rachel's organic yoghurt 1 apple some grapes. 1 banana Random Thought The Welsh Assembly's new Rainbow coalition Government in their first photo call. Zippy : First Minister... talks even more than Rhodri Morgan! Bungle: Doesn't have a portfolio, because he believes they are a bit common. But he is in the cabinet and is very good. George: Appoints himself Minister for Da

Mrs B and Isabella talking to the horses. Breakfast: Satisfactory bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Walk to Work: Not on the agenda today as I'm not engaged in income generation. So I am spending the day with our just gone one year old daughter Isabella. Weather here in South Wales is not the best, as I pen this it is raining heavily. But earlier I managed to get out to take Isabella for a walk around our local park Llandaff Fields, before visiting my parents. My father [yesterday's random thought] in fact gave some hazelnuts to a German PoW, although there were quite a few Italian PoWs working at the end of his street. Kitchen was a bomb site, after feeding Isabella, but my domestic cleaning technique stood up well. Random Thought Not sure it was here, perhaps it was... yes, I remember now, right there where that Tesco store now stands. You mean the house you were born in Charles? No, no Gladys, I mean the first time I... oh come on Gladys do I have to spe

My dad with his granddaughter. He fed Italian PoWs in World War 2 and would never stand to toast the Queen Toast the Queen? I'm more inclined to go with the flow Breakfast: Bowl of Branflakes with semi-skimmed organic milk Walk to Work: It was down the Taff Trail, where the solitary Swan of the other day had company... well done Wales's greatest ever living civil servant Gareth Hall. Lunchbox 4 ham and tomato sandwiches 1 Rachel's organic yoghurt 1 banana 1 apple 1 plum 2 digestive biscuits Random Thought January 1944: My father has his work cut out as 400 Italian PoWs are paraded through the streets of Canton, Cardiff, especially he has no idea what spaghetti is! He doesn't see his first banana until 1951!

BREAKFAST: A manly bowl of Branflakes with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Walk to Work: It was down the lengendary Taff Trail, where a party of what I believe were Herons were having fun on a gathering of rocks in the centre of the River Taff below. Across the river in the grounds of Cardiff Castle a woman, possibly Japanese, was giving a master class in tai chi. Lunchbox 4 ham and tomato sandwiches 1 apple 1 plum A handful of strawberries Random Thought: Why not try and get a few work colleagues together for a collective jump in the air. Make sure there is plenty of space... and go for it. It's more enjoyable and far cheaper than any corporate team bonding exercises.

BREAKFAST : Bowl of Branflakes with semi-skimmed organic cold milk. Then had a crumpet with Olivio spread. Walk to Work: It was back down the Taff Trail this morning, where construction on a new stadium at the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club is coming very nicely. A single Swan was on the River Taff below... Gareth Hall has promised to find it a partner very soon. Lunchbox: 2 Beef and tomato rolls 1 apple 1 banana 1 curly wurly 1 plum Some grapes. Random Thought: Not hurdled a fence in quite a while... it's great when you do and catch it just right. Perhaps my fence hopping days are over. No way Sion you're the man! Do remember my brother Mark getting into real trouble trying the hurdle a spiked fence in Germany crica 1976, where we had gate crashed a school trip of St Alban's primary school in the Splott area of Cardiff , as our mother was a teacher there at the time. Anyway, I had cleared it, but when his turn came he didn't quite and the back of his r

BREAKFAST: Very enjoyable bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed cold organic milk. Also had two crumpets as well. Walk to Work: Yes it's a Bank Holiday here in the UK, but I am working today. So it was not down the legendary River Taff trail, but along Cowbridge Road East which is my least preferred route into the centre of Cardiff. Not much happening on the road today, with hardly a soul around. Lunchbox: 2 beef brown rolls 1 apple 1 banana 2 digetive biscuits grapes and blueburries Random Thought The Flaked Avenger is alive and well. Many thought he had been fatally run over by a milk float early one morning on a country lane in deepest Mid Wales. His blog will return soon... correction, possibly.

Breakfast: Jolly bowl of Weetabix with semi-skimmed organic milk. Drove Mrs B and Isabella [in family photo above] to their respective locations this morning: nursery and venue of income generation. Have to say I hardly drive much these days... and it shows. Walk to Work: Still on vacation... enjoy! Lunch: That has yet to be addressed, but have some idea about two ham and cheese rolls... how very imaginative. Random Thought Today's drinking tip comes from Tony of Rochdale : Every once in a blue moon when you take the missus out for the night get her to buy a cheap bottle of vodka from the corner shop. Then pour it into 10 miniature bottles you have saved. Then when you are out only get her a glass of orange juice from the bar when you are getting your pints in. She can then can pour the vodka in under the table She's happy, you're happy and you have saved loads of money.

Breakfast: Charming bowl of Branflakes with semi-skimmed organic cold milk. Walk to Work: Not on the radar this week as I am on vacation. Spent the early part of the morning taking Isabella for a walk. Came across Lisa Poole a very entrepreneurial hairdresser who has her own salon in Pontcanna, Cardiff. I went to school many moons ago with her brother Chris, who lived only yards from our primary school, St Patrick's . Chris now resides in London where he acts on some of the world's biggest shipping deals. Talk of the devil here he is Lunch: Made 2 ham and cheese rolls. Random Thought Hairdresser: Anything nice planned for the weekend? First time customer: Yes, I'm going to kill my wife. Hairdresser [laughing]: Oh I feel like killing my husband sometimes... it's probably the weather love it's so warm . First time customer: I'm not joking she is going to pay with her life. Hairdresser [not fazed] Oh don't be silly now love, surely she's not that bad. F

Happy Birthday Isabella our wondrous daughter who is one today. She was born at Caerphilly's Miners Hospital at its 10 out of 10 birthing centre. We are having a little party in our humble abode later today. Walk to Work, lunchbox : Well they are taking a break as I am on holiday this week. Random Thought: 2010: A clamp down on singing in the bath is made in North Korea... Don't ask! However, something magical happens as thousands of bath tubs are brought up to the border in South Korea where people are encouraged to get clean and sing their lungs out.
