March 13th lunchbox
Here is a squirrel making his way to ground on the River Taff Trail... great balance these creatures have.
The shadow on the trunk is me.
Breakfast: Bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk.
The Walk to Work.
Rather chilly this morning as I set off towards the River Taff Trail.
Most of the action was across the river in the immaculately kept grounds of Cardiff Castle.
The extremely well groomed white Husky dog I see occasionally was having an eventful time trying to placate a small but tenacious terrier dog, which was snapping at its heels and generally jumping around him like crazy.
He seemed to be taking it all in good heart as his owner chatted away to the owner of the terrier. Minutes later, and after the departure of the terrier, a sheep dog, also out with his owner, raced towards him.
Barking could be heard from both dogs as they charged towards each other... but when they came nose to nose it was all amicable stuff.
As I crossed Canton Bridge, which leads into the centre of Cardiff, it was a case of pairs on the river below.
Some 50 yards ahead and rowing away from me were two rowers, while on the other bank, and approaching at a very leisurely speed, were two magnificent swans.
The Lunchbox
1 banana
1 container of sliced kiwi fruit, a cut up plum (this is not a reference to its psychological well being)
1 apple
4 ham sandwiches with tomatoes on granary bread.
1 curly wurly... a brilliant addition
1 cherry flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt.
Give it to us straight!
Change of strategy. Went for the banana first at 11.10am, followed 10 mins later by the container of fruit (which was awesome)
The sandwiches were demolished at midday. I then had the yoghurt and the curly wurly - a genuis lunchbox inclusion by Mrs B - and that went down a storm. I then had the yoghurt. Saving the apple until later afternoon.
Random Thought
2100: Wales's longest uninterrupted run of an economically inactive family is broken, when John Jones, 17, gets a job as a tour guide around Wales' new capital of Caerphilly... Cardiff is officially deemed as being below sea level in 2090.
For the record the last economically active member of his family was his great great grand father who worked as a green keeper in Tredegar.
