April 4th Lunchbox


















IT WAS a privilege to be greenside for the Sword of Truth and Justice golf match at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, between Sir Terry Matthews (pictured left) and First Minister Rhodri Morgan (right).

BREAKFAST: Divine bowl of three weetabix with cold semi-skimmed milk.

The Walk to Work: Quite chilly this morning as I headed towards the legendary Taff Trail. On the impressive wall which runs the entire length of the northern end of the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club (Sophia Gardens) I was conscious of a creature looking down on me as I passed by.

I was amazed to discover on looking back that it was a duck... the hunted turned hunter looking down on the human race some 16ft up high on the wall!

The Taff Trail was like the Monaco Grand Prix this morning with cyclists racing past me. It is only a matter of time before there is an accident!

The Lunchbox.

2 chocolate digestive biscuits
4 ham and tomato sandwiches on granary bread.
1 small container of a cut up plum, strawberries and kiwi friut
1 toffee flavoured Muller light yoghurt
1 banana
1 apple.

I was only depressed once in my teens... from the age of 13 to 19!

Had the biscuits first, and why not! Then went for a fruit extravaganza which was all over by 11.30am. Had the sandwiches and the yoghurt just after midday.


RANDOM THOUGHT.

2011: Prince Charles is made honorary president of the Black and White Television Society, which has a membership of 40,000 and growing at rate of 500 a month.
However, having a TV and turning down the colour on the remote control doesn't count

BREAKFAST: Was in the gym at 6.44am this morning.... first time in a month. Returned to have a swell bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk. THE WALK to WORK THE rain and wind tested by umbrella handing skills to the limit this morning. Down the Taff Trail and the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, Sophia Gardens, was looking particularly sad this morning. A cyclist waved as she passed me on the trail, turned out to be work colleague Anna Morrell . She later explained how she dreads passing pedestrians on the trail sporting i-Pods... good to get a cyclist perspective for a change! May 31st lunchbox

A podcast on the Welsh Forgetter of the Year. TO HEAR THE BARDS in ACTION CLICK HERE, DIOLCH! BREAKFAST: Very good bowl of Branflakes THE WALK to WORK. SUN was radiating as I ambled down what was a POSTCARDESQUE River Taff Trail this morning. Was i-Podless so had the full symphony of bird song, interspersed with the chimes of the Clock Tower of Cardiff Castle. THE LUNCHBOX 4 salmon sandwiches(tinned variety)with a hint of lemon juice. 1 plum 1 banana 1 Toffee flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt. 2 Chocolate digestive biscuits. TRUST ME MY WIFE IS A MAGISTRATE. Biscuits went early, followed by the fruit then the sandwiches just before midday. Saving the yoghurt until later RANDOM THOUGHT 2021: THE opening of the first TESCO UNIVERSITY, where students are schooled in Tescology, is delayed after members of the ANTI-TESCO league chain themselves to supermarket trollies in the offices of the Vice-Chancellor, located at the end of the Frozen Food aisle of the new campus
