July 21st lunchbox

OH dear rather hung over this morning. Was in Cardiff Castle last night for a farewell dinner for Sir Digby Jones who recently stood down as director general of the CBI.

They were all there to say goodbye, very important businessmen, politicians and the like.
After the dinner I ended up in the bar of the Hilton Hotel and got home at 20 to 1am.

Breakfast: Mrs B brought up a tray containing a bowl of Cornflakes, a banana, two pieces of toast with Olivio spread and blackcurrant jam, a glass of water and paracetomol.... that was a wonderful thing to do.

At 11am went for a run around my local park Llandaff Fields.... as my dad would say I was "sweating like a pig"

Most alcohol I have consumed in one day? (this was first posted on this blog in March)

I was 18 and had about four pints at lunch time with a mate [David Herbert].
We then bought a gallon of cider from an off-licence and headed for the grounds of Cardiff Castle to drink it, but I don't think we managed to finish it.
On walking home at around 5pm I bumped into another mate who had just finished work [David Jones who was then and is still a very good gardener].
He fancied a pint so I joined him... well it would have been rude not to!
We must had had about 7 pints until about 11pm having gone into the centre of Cardiff at around 8pm.
We then ended up at a house party somewhere in the Roath district Cardiff where we consumed quite a bit more alcohol, including from memory a bottle Malibu - how classy was that.
We left at around 3am, but I do recall feeling remarkably sober.

RANDOM THOUGHT.

IT's all in the mind.... Have an excellent lunch and a brilliant weekend

I feel that the quality of the drinkers...ooops sorry, business visionaries and inspirational leaders who kept you company in the Hilton deserved a special mention. It is not too often that such accumulated wisdom is found in such close proximity.

Ps Next time it would be a big help if you could take your glass back to the bar. Thanks.

Hello the Cleaner

Are you the one and only Billie Mayne of the Orange Order of MEM Group?
Indeed it was a gathering of intellectual and entrepreneurial heavyweights.

Glasses on the bar... yes indeed, pint well made.
