Friday January 20th Lunchbox



Clear blue skies this morning on my walk to work.

However, where the previous day had stood a great oak tree in Pontcanna Fields, only its stump remained _ I am no tree surgeon, but was that really necessary?

Birds were singing away, but I couldn't see a single squirrel. However, just as I was bemoaning their absence one jump out of a rubbish bin on the Taff Trail.
Only one duck was on the River Taff _ perhaps his friends had all gone on a long weekend somewhere.. possibly Vegas.

Over Canton Bridge _ which takes you into the centre of Cardiff _ a Cardiff Harbour patrol boat passed below. In the back of the boat was a bicycle. Not sure if the bike had been fished out of the river, or the bike belonged to the boat's skipper who cycles to work.


Pictured above is the inside of my Lunchbox _ those two blue containers I freeze each night _ they help to keep the box cool during the day _ but the crack in the lunchbox is reducing their impact.


Lunch box contents

2 Rich Tea biscuits
4 salmon sandwiches (tinned variety) with a hint of lemon juice
1 Raspberry Muller Light
Apple, banana, two satsumas.

Biscuits were the first to go, followed by the banana. The sandwiches were excellent and by 12.15pm the yoghurt was eaten too.
The reliable fruit quickly followed.


Random Thought: DIY studies should be compulsory in all schools _ would save kids a fortune when they get their own homes.

Also it might be an idea to have "joining do's" when people join companies _ it would make a nice change to the leaving do genre.

Baby is Coming: Our ordered pram for Bumpy has arrived, will collect tomorrow _ already checked if it will fit in the back of the car.

BREAKFAST: Was in the gym at 6.44am this morning.... first time in a month. Returned to have a swell bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk. THE WALK to WORK THE rain and wind tested by umbrella handing skills to the limit this morning. A podcast on the Welsh Forgetter of the Year. TO HEAR THE BARDS in ACTION CLICK HERE, DIOLCH! BREAKFAST: Very good bowl of Branflakes THE WALK to WORK. SUN was radiating as I ambled down what was a POSTCARDESQUE River Taff Trail this morning. Was i-Podless so had the full symphony of bird song, interspersed with the chimes of the Clock Tower of Cardiff Castle. THE LUNCHBOX 4 salmon sandwiches(tinned variety)with a hint of lemon juice. 1 plum 1 banana 1 Toffee flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt. 2 Chocolate digestive biscuits. TRUST ME MY WIFE IS A MAGISTRATE.
