Feb 24th Lunchbox
Breakfast: Bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk. Two pieces of sliced granary toasted bread with olivio spread and blackcurrant jam, followed by a pint of water.... first half from the tap and the second from a bottled version in the fridge.
The Walk to Work.
It was snowing this morning. Just past the entrance into Pontcanna Fields and I came across a woman who kissed her black labrador before letting him off his lead He was very excitable and was rushing around like a bull in a china shop.
Her other dog, which I didn't see her kiss, looked like he had a bit of Irish Wolfhound in him. When he was released he was far more subdued.
It has been a few weeks, but it was great to see a magnificent swan cruising up the River Taff as I walked along the river trail. It was "squirrelless" again today.
The Lunchbox.
Forgot to mention that Mrs B yesterday provided a small container of anchovies, which were delicious.
Today's contents
A slice of chocolate cake made by niece Marianne... nice one kid!
4 ham sandwiches on granary bread.
A small slice of feta cheese lightly covered in olive oil - a first ever appearance in the lunchbox.
1 banana.
1 apple.
1 small container of sliced kiwi friut and strawberries with grapes.
Please enligthen us
THE chocolate cake was excellent and was devoured at 11am. I then went for the banana. Had the sandwiches, interspersed with the Feta cheese, just before midday. Proceedings were satisfactorily wrapped up with the remaining fruit.
Random Thought
2056: The Chinese State Circus completes a 14 day whistle-stop tour playing at venues in every state in Africa.
Today's Swap: Fidel Castro and former UK table tennis no 1 Desmond Douglas.
Coming soon: THE Archbishop of Canterbury recites his favourite blog entry, following yesterday's recital from First Minister for Wales Rhodri Morgan.
Have a great lunch and a terrific weekend
