June 20th lunchbox
BREAKFAST: Charming bowl of branflakes with semi-skimmed milk
The Walk to Work.
Sun was breaking through as I headed off down the Taff Trail towards the centre of Cardiff.
Quite a few ducks were on the River Taff below. The Chinese State Circus are still encamped off the trail... saw three Chinese youngsters kicking a football around on grass land behind their impressive big top.
Haven't seen any squirrels for ages... perhaps they are all on vacation.
LUNCHBOX
apple
banana
2 satsumas
plum
4 ham sandwiches on granary bread
Don't point that needle anywhere near me!
Banana went first just before 10.30am, then a satsuma. Had the sandwiches after 11am. Saving the remaining fruit until the afternoon.
RANDOM THOUGHT
THE only place in the Western World where the majority of residents don't have a washing machine is in the BBC soap opera Eastenders.
They all use the local laundrette, pictured above. Perhaps it's time to make laundrette use compulsory in all towns and cities... could do a great deal to rekindle a sense of community spirit.
