January 12 lunchobx

BREAKFAST: Much needed bowl of 3 Weetabix with hot milk, two pieces of toast, much water and a cup of lemon juice and boiled water.

Last night I had a few drinks with these gentlemen in the centre of Cardiff: Ian Williams, Ian Courtney, Brian Morgan, Mark Barry [brother] and the truly magnificent Robert Llewellyn-Jones.

That was fun, but not so funny on waking up with an imperial hangover.


Walk to Work
It was down Cowbridge Road East that takes you into the centre of Cardiff. Cannot even remember if I had my i-Pod on.

Lunchbox: Decided to give it a well deserved day off

Not sure, but I think these boots might belong to the affable Gareth Hall... Wales's greatest ever living civil servant.

Do you find that Weetabix is a good cure for a hangover Sion? I'd be intrigued to know what your vertict on that is.

Dear Sion,

It has been around a day since I invited you for coffee to discuss the merits of Weetabix as a cure for a hangover.

But you have not given me the decency of a reply. Do you treat all your blog readers with similar contempt?

I would be grateful if you could let me know when you are available as my wife Dilys suffers with wind and needs round-the-clock care which means I need to ask my neighbour, Steve, to look after her in my absence.

In answer to your question: To be honest the damage on a hangover is already done by breakfast the next morning. Might be an idea to drink a pint of water and take an aspirin before going to bed.
So really Weetabix are more of a psychological thing with me:Always feel a little bit better, but not a million dollars.

As for meeting for a coffee Eric... sure, but why not bring Dilys and Eric too?

Perhaps there is money to be made for charging for good manners.

Why don't you do some proper investigative journalism, you small minded hack? Like, whether the Merlin contract at the NAfW is vfm? All those consultants. Try starting with spending your time on something worthwhile rather than your obsession with the (late) WDA and now Garteh Hall at WAG. Get a life and serve the public or go and work for Nuts with the rest of the tits.

BREAKFAST: Was in the gym at 6.44am this morning.... first time in a month. Returned to have a swell bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk. THE WALK to WORK THE rain and wind tested by umbrella handing skills to the limit this morning. A podcast on the Welsh Forgetter of the Year. TO HEAR THE BARDS in ACTION CLICK HERE, DIOLCH! BREAKFAST: Very good bowl of Branflakes THE WALK to WORK. SUN was radiating as I ambled down what was a POSTCARDESQUE River Taff Trail this morning. Was i-Podless so had the full symphony of bird song, interspersed with the chimes of the Clock Tower of Cardiff Castle. THE LUNCHBOX 4 salmon sandwiches(tinned variety)with a hint of lemon juice. 1 plum 1 banana 1 Toffee flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt. 2 Chocolate digestive biscuits. TRUST ME MY WIFE IS A MAGISTRATE. Biscuits went early, followed by the fruit then the sandwiches just before midday. Saving the yoghurt until later RANDOM THOUGHT 2021: THE opening of the first TESCO UNIVERSITY, where students are schooled in Tescology, is delayed after members of the ANTI-TESCO league chain themselves to supermarket trollies in the offices of the Vice-Chancellor, located at the end of the Frozen Food aisle of the new campus

BREAKFAST: Marvellous bowl of Cornflakes with cold semi-skimmed milk. The Walk to Work. Sun was really trying to break through (fair play), but even with clear blue skies there was the odd drop of rain... well that's the UK for you! Down the Taff Trial into the centre of Cardiff and it was cyclist mania this morning. And at last more on the wildlife front, noted two fierce looking ravens foraging for food on the river bank, as well as quite a few chilled out ducks on the River Taff below. The immaculate groomed white Husky passed me with his owner. LUNCHBOX... 1 banana 1 plum 4 chicken sandwiches on granary bread 1 toffee flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt 1 slice of coconut cake made by Plugs of Trumpton. THIS oven could do with a good clean! Went for the cake first (and why not!), followed by the banana and then the plum. Sandwiches were rapidly demolished just before midday. Yoghurt will go shortly.
