August 29th lunchbox


BREAKFAST: Magical bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed cold milk... a real winner.


In yesterday's blog entry I was struggling to maintain my position hanging from a tree. Well I got a second wind, but my technique is admittedly not the best.

In the distance? That's not a clandestine meeting of the KKK, but some people playing bowls.


Lunchbox: Off work for a week for it's washed, dried and stored away.

Lunchbox: That's some time off at the time of writing [ 7.84am GMT], but I will probably make some bruschetta using the bread I made yesterday.







And that bread is absolutely delicious.
I think I am going to make quite a bit more in the weeks, months, years ahead.

When the skies turn dark and you sense your way home.
When the greenest of the landscape is a long forgotten treasured land.... stop it immediately!

Impressive looking loaf. Isn't it wonderful that we've evolved from creatures who hang in trees to people who grow and harvest wheat, mill it, package it, transport it hundreds of miles and sell it to someone who turns it into something edible. And then goes and hangs in a tree.

We have enough bread on this planet, but not everyone can eat it.

Trees? I think we need more of them and in the right places too.

BREAKFAST: Was in the gym at 6.44am this morning.... first time in a month. Returned to have a swell bowl of Cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk. THE WALK to WORK THE rain and wind tested by umbrella handing skills to the limit this morning. Down the Taff Trail and the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, Sophia Gardens, was looking particularly sad this morning. A cyclist waved as she passed me on the trail, turned out to be work colleague Anna Morrell . May 31st lunchbox

A podcast on the Welsh Forgetter of the Year. TO HEAR THE BARDS in ACTION CLICK HERE, DIOLCH! BREAKFAST: Very good bowl of Branflakes THE WALK to WORK. SUN was radiating as I ambled down what was a POSTCARDESQUE River Taff Trail this morning. Was i-Podless so had the full symphony of bird song, interspersed with the chimes of the Clock Tower of Cardiff Castle. THE LUNCHBOX 4 salmon sandwiches(tinned variety)with a hint of lemon juice. 1 plum 1 banana 1 Toffee flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt. 2 Chocolate digestive biscuits. TRUST ME MY WIFE IS A MAGISTRATE. Biscuits went early, followed by the fruit then the sandwiches just before midday. Saving the yoghurt until later RANDOM THOUGHT 2021: THE opening of the first TESCO UNIVERSITY, where students are schooled in Tescology, is delayed after members of the ANTI-TESCO league chain themselves to supermarket trollies in the offices of the Vice-Chancellor, located at the end of the Frozen Food aisle of the new campus

May 23rd lunchbox

BREAKFAST: Marvellous bowl of Cornflakes with cold semi-skimmed milk. The Walk to Work. Sun was really trying to break through (fair play), but even with clear blue skies there was the odd drop of rain... well that's the UK for you! Down the Taff Trial into the centre of Cardiff and it was cyclist mania this morning. And at last more on the wildlife front, noted two fierce looking ravens foraging for food on the river bank, as well as quite a few chilled out ducks on the River Taff below. The immaculate groomed white Husky passed me with his owner. LUNCHBOX... 1 banana 1 plum 4 chicken sandwiches on granary bread 1 toffee flavoured Muller Light Yoghurt 1 slice of coconut cake made by Plugs of Trumpton. THIS oven could do with a good clean! Went for the cake first (and why not!), followed by the banana and then the plum. Sandwiches were rapidly demolished just before midday. Yoghurt will go shortly.
